What we are doing now
We have been meeting with stakeholders, developers, and potentially affected property owners to discuss these projects.
We are continuing to undertake site investigations to advance our designs for these projects and to assist with the preparation of the Notices of Requirement (NoR) to support the route protection (e.g. designation) process.
What is route protection?
Route protection is a planning process that enables land to be protected for future construction and operation of necessary infrastructure such as transport networks. This provides certainty to landowners and developers about where these Whenuapai and Redhills connections will be located.

The applications for the NoR route protection for each of these projects and resource consent applications for the Trig Road Project are intended to be lodged in early-mid 2020.
