Project update on new train stations for Drury and Paerata

|

In partnership with KiwiRail, Auckland Transport and Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency are planning the new future train stations for Drury and Paerata.

The project is part of the Government’s New Zealand Upgrade Programme and will work with the electrification of the rail network from Papakura to Pukekohe that is already underway. Both projects are part of a long-term plan to improve transport in the Drury–Ōpāheke area over the next 10–30 years.

It's a complex project and we’re making good progress to confirm the footprints for the new stations and the supporting facilities. We’re taking the time to ensure we make the right decisions and in the coming months we’ll start carrying out technical investigations and surveys on land near the intended locations for the new stations. These preliminary investigations will give us more information to help develop the station designs in more detail.

We’ll continue to share information as we develop the station footprints and will provide another update early 2021.
